The Locations

International Landscape Painting Workshop in Puglia, Southern Italy by artist Tjasa Iris

This area of Italy is less known than for example other Tjasa's workshop locations as Tuscany or Venice. Due to that, this workshop normaly also has less crowd, less participants. You can almost expect private lessons! But even if you will be just in two persons, Tjasa will not cancel the workshop as this is her favorite workshop location after all! And she loves to come to this part of Italy and as well to revisit the wonderful family De Miccholis Angleini that is owning the Masseria Salamina, and that you will have a chance to get to know, too. Next year it will be 9 years since Tjasa is holding her workshops at this location! So, she knows quite well this wonderful and misterious part of Italy.

Tjasa's workshops are designed for you not just to learn painting, but also to get to know the country you are visiting. Its culture, history and cuisine. For this reason, the program is designed for you to paint 4 hours per day and after that as well to participate at town feasts, local markets, archaeological sites... and to enjoy the wonderful cuisine of Puglia, that will be prepared for you in a form of a four course fancy complex traditional dinners at Masseria Salamina.

our hotel Masseria Salamina Castle surrounded with olive orchards

When the rest of Europe is still in cold winter time, almond trees are flourishing at  splending 17 century fortified Castle "Masseria Salaminaina".

In March and April grass is light green and high and there is light  overtaking sweet perfume of flowers everywhere.

For those joining us in September, we will also be able to use the swimming pool at Masseria Salamina and we will go painting to the beach and fishman villages.

And we will be there to paint and enjoy all this magic beauty.

There will be lots of inspiring scenes for you to paint.

Masseria Salamina is ideal place for you to enjoy a holiday  out in the countryside with good natural food and the pleasure of living, as in old times.
This old fortified farm was built in the year 1600 and has 17 acres of land situated in the middle of secular olive trees. It has been rebuilt with care to offer accomodation in a rural style; the restaurant offers a homely atmosphere and you can taste traditional food from Puglia.

You can also buy farm products from Masseria Salmina's own production as olive oil, jams..... For more information you can visit their site: www.masseriasalamina.it
