Tuscany, Italy

- at San Donato farm. Where the Fenzi family is producing Chianti and Vernaccia Wine as well as olive oil.

Who doesn’t dream about painting in Tuscany at least once in their life, if not every year at least for a week. This most beautiful and special place in the world attracts painters from all over the world and you will be able to feel this creative atmosphere in the warm dry Tuscan air. If you come in July, you will be able to see sun flowers. October is harvest time specially for grapes. Tuscany is one of the Tjasa’s homes. She studied and lived in Florence for 3 years, and this places are part of her life and her art work. more info...

 

- second location in Tuscany is Sienna. "Secret Gardens of Tuscany Workshop"

The title of the workshop tells you all about it. We will be painting Tuscan gardens. Most will be private property of aristocratic families. Tjasa carefuly selected 6 of the most wonderful gardens to visit, paint, admire and enjoy. As garden of Castello di Brolio (that is home of Barone Ricassoli, a family that is producing Chianti for over 700 years), Villa Cetinale, gardens of Abbey Coltibuono... Most of this places also produce wine. We will visit their tasting rooms on our way, and you will get to know a lot about Tuscan wines, too.

We will be staying in an ancient Villa Scacciapensieri (4 star) in Sienna. The villa has a fantastic garden, too. As well as stunning views.

 

Venice, Italy

Tjasa lived in Venice for 7 years and now she lives just about an hour and a half from Venice, so she still goes very offens there. She knows every corner of it and besides speaking a perfect Italian, she also understands Venetian dialect. Imagine that! You will have a very special experience to go around Venice with her. You will see parts, other tourists can not even imagine finding. more info...

 

Provence, France

Van Gogh came from dark and grey Holland to the luminous Provence and fell in love with this strong light and bright colours. Come and join us, and discover it yourself, too. This workshop will be very much about color. You will get to understand all the work of Van Gogh as well as enjoy the joy of life that only Southern France has. If you come in May, you will see all the red poppies blooming. If you come in July, you will be able to enjoy the deep blue lavender fields.

Each May Tjasa is also holding a workshop "Rue de Cezanne" at Aix-en-Provence. It is about Cezannes painting locations and his art work and way of painting.

Since a few years France is Tjasa's new country of addoption. She is spending her winters painting in Paris. And also holding workshops, she spends about half a year in this beautiful country that she adores. more info...

 

Puglia, Southern Italy

I am almost sure you have never heard of Puglia jet. Well, it is most beautiful part of Southern Italy, specially in early April. Have you ever thought where Italians or half of Europe goes on holidays. Well this is the place. But other parts of the world, except Japanese, did not discover it jet!!! Can you imagine what a heaven! It is Tjasa’s favourite painting location, and for you a new very special part of the world to be discovered. Spring is the most beautiful time to be there, and tourists come later in the summer. We will have Puglia all for ourselves!!! And this is also not the workshops for which Tjasa would always have many participants for. So, if you like to have almost private lessons, and if you like quiet and peace, this is the place for you to come. We will live in a real ancient castle. Alps of Slovenia

When the rest of Europe is too hot to do En Plein Painting, up in the Alps is THE place to be. Many people do not know where Slovenia is. It is such a small country. It has only 2 million people. But even if noone knows about it, it still attracted more than 2,3 million visitors last year! It is situated in the Central Europe, South of Austria, East of Italy, and it only takes 90 min to drive to Venice! It used to be a republic of former Yugoslavia 15 years ago, but it is independent since 1991 and it joined the EC in May 2004. Well, Tjasa is a Slovenian!!! You have a chance to discover the Central Europe, but out of the beaten tourist paths!!! Can you imagine that!!! The life at the Makek farmhouse is more than special. You will paint outside on the fresh Alpine air. Eat all the healthy organic farm typical Slovenian dishes, and we will also do lots of mountain hiking and excursion to the capital city of Ljubljana.

 

 

Wine Country and the Alps of SLOVENIA and The Coast of ITALY (Gulf of Trieste)

You will be staying at Villa Flora in Branik. That is Tjasa's summer residency, studio, Bed & Breakfast and Artist Retreat that Tjasa bought in 2004 and is located in the Wine Country of Slovenia near Italian Riviera of Trieste. You will be painting in both countries.
Includes daily painting trips to Slovenian Alps (Soca Valley), Ljubljana with visit to National Art Museum, Italian Coast with painting of gardens of Castello di Miramare (Austrian Emperor’s Castle) or Castello di Duino and the riviera of the Gulf of Trieste, Italy.

Tjaša Iris is a European - Slovenian born and Italian by adoption, noted for her joyful use of color and paintings that celebrate life and the joy of life.
She studied Photography and Painting at International School of Fine Art Fortman Studios in Florence, Italy. Later at at Staffordhire Polytecnic in England. And for the last years of her studies she spent in Holland where she earned her M.A. in Painting from Academie Minerva in Groningen.

She had many exhibitions in different countries as Italy, The Netherlands, Slovenia, USA, South Africa and France. Her works are in many private and public collections around the world.
She lives summers at her Villa Flora, a residency, studio, Bed & Breakfast and an Artist Retreat in the Wine Country of Slovenia. And she lives and works winters in Paris.


She is holding painting workshops since 1996 at different locations.

Tjaša: "I hold my first workshop in 1996. The Gallery - Cultural Foundation Fondazione Villa Benzi Zecchin from near Venice, Italy organized my first personal exhibition. With the intention to promote my first show they also organized painting workshops that were conducted by me. I liked the experience very much. And the summer after that I organized my first workshop in Tuscany. Since than I made quite a long long way. I hold today up to 15 workshops per year at different locations as in Italy, France and Slovenia. In 13 years of career I had participants of many professions from all 6 continents and from about 25 countries.

Most of my participants are from United States, Canada and European countries. But I had participants also from Australia, New Zeland, South Africa, Belize, Argentina, Anguilla, Israel, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Lebanon as from Great Britain, The Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, Romania, Germany, Macedonia, Norway, France...

....and many who returned second, third and even for the fifth time."
